2015 Slopes for Hope cancelled

Annual ski and snowboard event, scheduled for Hemlock Valley on Feb. 8, has been called off due to a lack of snow

In the end, Mother Nature failed to co-operate.

The third annual Slopes for Hope for the Canadian Cancer Society has been cancelled.

The ski and snowboard fundraiser was scheduled to take place on Sunday, Feb. 8 at Hemlock Valley Resort, but due to a lack of snow on the mountain a little over a week ahead of the event, organizers have decided it will not go ahead this year.

"Unfortunately and sadly, due to a lack of snow, the Canadian Cancer Society has had to make the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Slopes for Hope event at Hemlock Resort," said the Cancer Society's Nicola Romaniuk.

"We all look forward to a snowy winter next season, when Slopes For Hopes returns."
