What can be better than a Christmas spent with family and friends?

For the 123 members of the Mission Health Care Auxiliary, it is knowing they help others during the festive season.

At The Cottage Thrift Store, run by MHCA, Christmas starts early, and this year the group even needed to rent extra space to have all the items on display.

The hospital main entrance, lower entrance and conference room have been decorated by auxilians to give the areas a festive look. The gift shop has many specialty items for the season. Volunteers supply more than 200 tray favours and gifts for each food tray to go with the Christmas meal, to the people staying at The Residence in Mission (TRIM), a residential care home.

Volunteers also organize several evening Christmas socials with live music and desserts. The music has been made possible with funding from the MHCA,. and members will be in attendance to help.
