Old Car Sunday in the Park will return to Fraser River Heritage Park on Father’s Day. The District of Mission has tamed up with local firefighters to run the popular event.

A Mission tradition will continue next Father’s Day.

The District of Mission and the Mission Fire Fighters Charitable Society have partnered to keep the Old Car Sunday in the Park running strong.

Old Car Sunday is one of the largest and longest-running car shows in Canada. The event will continue to be hosted on Father’s Day in Fraser River Heritage Park. This year will see more than 1,000 antique and collector vehicles on display along with food vendors and live music.

The district is pleased to be working with the Mission Firefighters Charitable Society, who are leading the event.

Society representative, Brian Hahn said, “we are excited to carry on this fantastic tradition in Mission on Father’s Day and hope to add musical entertainment, a beer garden and children’s activities.”

The Mission Firefighters Society was established in 2011 with a purpose of contributing towards the betterment of Mission.

Membership is comprised of professional and paid-on-call firefighters in Mission. They have supported many worthwhile causes since their establishment including KidSport, the Mission Hospice, the Firefighter Burn Fund, the Mission Food Bank, MY House, the Cancer Society and Zajac Ranch.

Proceeds from the event will support local charities.

The Society and the District of Mission are looking forward to seeing car enthusiasts in the park on June 18, and on Father’s Day for many years to come.
