Mission’s forestry department will host its annual Municipal Forest Cutblock Party this Sunday (April 7).

The free event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with activities including tree planting, logger sports, forestry displays and refreshments.

The Cutblock Party will take place just north of Mill Pond and Rod and Gun Club. The city advises those who wish to attend to look for the parking lot and yellow gate labelled “Biero Road.”

Last year, hundreds of people endured unpredictable weather to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Mission Municipal Forest and plant over 130 trees as part of the event. Roughly 300 people were in attendance in 2023.
