PHOTOS: Heritage to Hatzic run raises funds for Mission Hospice Society

This year, the event started and finished at the track at Heritage Middle School

The annual Heritage to Hatzic five and 10 kilometre runs took place on Sunday, April 7.

The goal of the event was to raise $5,000 or more for the Mission Hospice Society to fund some of its camp programs.

This year, the event started and finished at the track at Heritage Middle School (33700 Prentis Ave). The route when down to Fraser River Heritage Park and then out to Hatzic before returning to the park and up to the finish line.

Mission’s Mark Klassen was the first runner to cross the finish line in the five kilometre run with a time of 18:54.

The first runner to complete the 10 kilometre run was Chilliwack’s Dex Koeleman with a time of 36:10.
