Local actor Trevor Crosby plays William Blore in Opening Nite Theatre’s spring production of Agatha Christies’ And Then There Were None, opening March 9 at Opening Nite Theatre.
This is one of the most popular of Agatha Christie’s murder mysteries. The story revolves around 10 people who are invited to Soldier Island, off the coast of Devon for a vacation on the weekend of Aug. 8, by the mysterious Mr. U.N. Owen.
They arrive, but strangely their host and hostess are nowhere to be found. They are told that their host and hostess are currently away and the guests are shifted into their rooms.
They are stuck on the island with no way out as the weather is not favourable for boats to arrive. Tragedies begin to occur and one by one they are murdered.
Then suddenly they realize the significance of the nursery rhyme displayed above the bookcase in the living room …‘Ten little Soldier boys went out to dine, one choked his little self and then there were nine.’
As there is no one else on the island but the 10 guests, they come to the conclusion that the killer must be one of them. But who?
The play runs March 9-11, 16-18, and 23-25. Evening performances take place at 8 p.m while Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 from Murdoch’s Bookshoppe on First Avenue or at the door.
