The popular group Innerwild will perform on the Twilight stage in Fraser River Heritage Park on Friday (tonight) at 7 p.m.

The Envision Financial Twilight Concert series continues on Friday with one of the series’ most popular bands, Innerwild, starting at 7 p.m.

Innerwild offers a plethora of musical styles, including blues, rockin’ soul, R&B, swing with some Latin, country, and classic rock and roll.

The band consists of five versatile musicians featuring, on lead guitar and vocals, the talented Noel Gulbransen; on second guitar and vocals, Doug McFetridge; on electric bass and vocals, Bob Van Velzen; on sax, Freddie Schmidt; and laying down the solid foundation, Rick Noel.

On Wednesday, June 28 the concert series welcomes John McLachlan.

McLachlan returns to Heritage Park after almost 30 years as one of the very first musicians to appear at the Mission Folk Festival, where he featured his original songs about British Columbia, past and present.

The B.C.-born singer/songwriter John McLachlan began writing and performing in folk clubs in Vancouver in 1979. Over the next 20 years he presented his original songs about his own experiences and historical events in hundreds of theatres, festivals, clubs and schools.

After a hiatus working in arts administration and graphic design, in 2014 John returned to music, writing and recording the album Call it Home in 2016 and Wind &Bones in 2017 with multi-instrumentalist Marc Atkinson.

He’s working on a new album to be released in 2018 and is back performing in venues large and small.

The concerts take place rain or shine and the Special Olympics team will be on site to assist with parking as they have been proudly doing for more than 20 years.

The concerts are free and everyone is welcome.

The Envision Financial Twilight Concerts’ team is part of Mission’s 125 celebrations. Concert audiences can pick up their 125 passport at the Envision tent on site at Fraser River Heritage Park and receive an official stamp. Collect all the stamps and be eligible to win some great prizes.
