HERITAGE WEEK: Heritage Week calendar of events

Turn on the Juice: The Development of Electricity in Mission - Feb. 19-26, 2 to 4 p.m.

Stave Falls Visitor Centre, 31300 Dewdney Trunk Rd.

An exhibition created by Mission Community Archive, Mission Museum and Heritage Places Branch.

 

Annual Heritage Awards - Feb. 19, 1 p.m.

The Theatre, Stave Falls BC Hydro Visitor Centre

This is an annual event and will be held just prior to the launch of the exhibit.

 

Monarchy and Memorabilia - Feb. 18-26,

10 a.m. to 3 p.m

Lifetime Learning Centre

Join the celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee.

 

Creative Energy Art Show - Feb. 11 to March 2

Mission Art Centre, 33529 First Ave.

The exhibit Air, Earth, Fire, Water is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 1 to 4 p.m.

 

Senior Social and Dance - Feb. 21, 2 to 4 p.m.

All Saints Anglican Church, 33077 Second Ave.

Music by Nick Chadwick. Refreshments served. Admission by donation.

 

Mission Friendship Centre - Feb. 22, 1:30 to 4 p.m., 33150A First Ave.

Drop in and enjoy the bannock and browse the tables with crafts and art for sale.

 

Heritage Tea - Feb. 23, 2 to 4 p.m.

Senior Activity Centre, Taulbut Street

Tea served with traditional scones and homemade blackberry jelly. Entertainment: Time Out (vocal trio). Bring a favourite item for the popular Show and Tell. Admission by donation.

 

Opening Nite Theatre - Feb. 24, 7 p.m.

Cedarbrooke Chateau, 32331 Seventh Ave.

Golden Idol performed by Opening Nite Theatre. Tickets $12.

Enjoy socializing, refreshments and local artistic talent, Opening Nite Theatre. Mission Genealogy Club will be on hand with a display of heritage family memorabilia and history.
