Armed men rob SilverCity

Mission SilverCity’s employees were shaken when three masked men armed with handguns escaped with a large quantity of cash from the theatre’s safe around 1 a.m., March 5.
The men fled the scene and police are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious persons or vehicles in the area before the robbery to contact them by calling Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be sent through the website www.solvecrime.ca.

Grow op robbed
As police were investigating an attempted break and enter at a licensed medicinal marijuana grow operation around 3:10 a.m., March 8, they came across a suspicious vehicle backing into a residence in the 14200 block of Kontney Road, followed by four masked males fleeing, and escaping police.
When Mounties entered the home to check on the occupants’ well-being, they found a 62-year-old resident and a marijuana grow operation. The uninjured man told police he was robbed by a masked individual.
Police returned to the property later in the day with a search warrant for the grow op and are continuing to investigate.
The two break-ins have not been linked, said RCMP Sgt. Miriam Dickson.
