Driver of fatal accident identified
The driver who died after veering off Dewdney Trunk Road near Welch Avenue yesterday has been identified as 57-year-old David Kernovich of Mission.
The crash occurred just north of the Mission Rod and Gun Club.
According to Mission RCMP spokeswoman Miriam Dickson, the man was driving north along Dewdney Monday around noon when his red Ford sport utility vehicle crossed the southbound lane and went into the dense underbrush.
Passersby found the car in a swamp against a tree, but Dickson said it was not submerged in water.
Cause of death has not been determined and the investigation is ongoing.
