Brothers a step closer to subdividing ALR property
A 14-acre parcel of land in the Agricultural Land Reserve in Silverdale is one step closer to being subdivided after council gave the application second and third reading Monday night following a public hearing.
There were no objections to the move.
According to the OCP, lands in the ALR must be a minimum of 8.9 acres, but if the property located at 9479 Hayward St. is subdivided, each parcel would be 7.2 acres.
Currently, there is small-scale hay production on the property and the subdivision would not affect it.
The property has been in the Donatelli family since 1889 and the family doesn’t have any immediate plans to sell it.
The subdivision would allow the brothers, George and Ralph Donatelli, who own the land, to build a separate dwelling in the future and eventually provide properties for their children.
