A $2.1-million home in Tsawwassen has been seized by the Civil Forfeiture Office in relation to a large-scale drug investigation by Delta police.
The property located at 5282 Williams Ave., just a block from the Canada-U.S. border, was seized in connection with “Project Rolling Thunder,” a DPD investigation in November of 2020 into an alleged drug operation in Delta and Richmond.
Investigators referred the matter to the CFO, which seized the residential property as proceeds of crime, and the Supreme Court later approved the seizure, deeming the residence as offence-related property, according to a DPD press release.
The property, which has an appraised value of $2.133 million, was transferred to the Province of British Columbia earlier this week on Monday, Sept. 25.
“The seizure of this property is an example of the dedication of our investigators to utilize all lawful means to hold those involved in high-level criminal activity accountable through proper investigations and referrals to agencies such as CFO,” DPD Chief Const. Neil Dubord said in a press release.
The release notes Project Rolling Thunder resulted in the recommendation of criminal charges against several people, however with the criminal process ongoing and a publication ban in place, the DPD can make no further comment on the matter.
