A 20-year-old Mission resident was robbed of his wallet and cellphone as he was seated inside his vehicle at the 14th Avenue Pub parking lot on New Year's Eve.

The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m., said Mission RCMP Sgt. Shaun Wright.

The male suspect was wearing a black ski mask and a black hoodie when he approached the victim and pointed a handgun at him, Wright added. The victim was not injured.

Police do not have any suspects in custody and don't believe at this time the crime is connected to any other robberies.

The suspect is described as 5'10" tall with a slim build. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call RCMP at 604-826-7161.
