Suspicious activity on Lost Creek road

A Caucasian male with a firearm was seen standing next to a grey tarp near the eight kilometre mark of Lost Creek Forest Service Road, east of Mission, on May 25.

Two witnesses driving in the area thought there could possibly have been a body on the ground underneath the tarp and called police.

The witnesses heard shots fired as they approached the large gravel pit in the afternoon, according to police. Nearby was an older white vehicle described as a two-door Celica.

“A thorough search of the area failed to locate anyone or anything which appeared to be related to this reported incident,” said Mission RCMP Sgt. Shaun Wright.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
