Rockin River performers earn CCMA nominations
Three headline acts at the year's Rockin' River Music Festival have been nominated for multiple Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards.
Gord Bamford, Terri Clark, and The Road Hammers will be a part of the 2014 awards show in September.
Bamford is nominated for the Fans’ Choice Award, Single of the Year (When Your Lips Are So Close), Songwriter of the Year (When Your Lips Are So Close), Album Design of the Year (Country Junkies), Record Producer of the Year (Country Junkies), and Country Music Program or Special of the Year (Christmas In Canada – CMT).
Clark is nominated for Female Artist of the Year and The Road Hammers are nominated for Group/Duo of the Year.
Forty-one CCMA Awards will be given out over four award ceremonies during Country Music Week in Edmonton, Alberta, Sept. 4-7. Eight CCMA Awards will be given out on the 2014 CCMA Awards Show, broadcast on CBC and CMT Canada on Sept. 7. The nomination announcements were made last Thursday.
“Rockin’ River Musicfest always tries to bring the best in country music to the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland,” says Rockin’ River president Kenny Hess. “Rockin’ River is proud to have these incredibly accomplished artists at Mission Raceway Park this summer.”
Last year about 26,000 people attended the three-day. This year Rockin’ River Musicfest runs from Aug. 7-9 at Mission Raceway Park.
