Mission's Brian Antonson was appointed president of the 2014 Winter Games, which comes to this community February 2014.
The long-time local resident is a media specialist, and recently retired as the associate dean of broadcast and media community with BCIT.
“We are very lucky to have such a strong community-minded and talented communicator leading us as we prepare to put on the best Winter Games ever,” said Mission Mayor Ted Adlem, who made the announcement at the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce's annual general meeting Thursday afternoon.
The 2014 BC Winter Games will begin on Feb. 20, 2014, and the first task at hand for Antonson will be participating in the selection of an organizing committee.
