The News sent a questionnaire to all candidates in the three local ridings. Candidates were given strict word limits and instructed not to go over, lest their answers be cut off.

Name: Dan Cameron

Current occupation: Community Support Worker

Notable past achievements/titles/jobs: Last three jobs were in the same field.

Where do you live? Mission, in the Hatzic area.

If you have run for office before, what have you learned? If you have not, why are you running now?

Mainstream politics is getting us nowhere, in fact, it’s taking us backwards. I’m running to let people know that there’s another choice.

Tell us about yourself. I.E.: Where were you born, where did you go to school/college etc., what jobs did you have over the years:

I was born in Haliburton, Ontario. I attended Mission Secondary and then obtained a Micro-Computers in Business Certificate and a General Studies Diploma at UFV. Several years later I went to Riverside College and completed a Community Support Worker Certificate. I’ve worked in residential care for the last couple of years, before that two microboards for about three years and a day program for three years.

Why would you make a good representative for your constituents in the legislature?

“Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider, and not your own lips.” Proverbs 27:2

What are the three most important issues facing Abbotsford and how would you address them?

1. Transgender education aimed at children is the most important issue. Since the passing of Bill 27, SOGI 123 was brought in to teach unscientific gender ideology through methods such as the Gender Unicorn which asks children to place their gender identity on a spectrum, and videos, one featuring a male twin whom Dr. Spack described as shorter than his brother because of puberty blockers. Trans Care BC, a SOGI 123 link says, “we won’t know the long-term effects until the first people to take puberty blockers get older”. It’s then safe to assume youth later taking cross-hormones are in a similar category. Gender ideology ultimately leads children towards “hormone therapy” which can sterilize, cause strokes, heart disease and even death according to consent forms. This titanic movement taking children “full speed ahead” into dangerous uncharted medical experiment waters needs to be banned like in New South Wales, Australia.

2. There’s a homelessness problem where our brothers and sisters, friends and family and community members who couldn’t keep up with the increasing speed of the herd of society, the rat race if you will, have fallen back. Some have been caught by the predator of mental illness, poverty and/or drugs. A party based on Biblical principles will use compassion to help people get off the streets and give them hope.

3. “My sister and I argued that our Aunt appears to only have a severe Bladder infection”. But the doctor said it’d make no difference, she already signed permission for euthanasia. This occurred in a B.C. nursing home, it could be in any city, including Abbotsford. Elsewhere, an Alberta study suggested doctor-assisted suicide could save Canada up to $139 million each year. The notwithstanding clause needs to be invoked before more lives are taken.

Tell us a surprising or unique story about yourself:

I’ve researched how singing brings people together and creates oxytocin. I’ve spent years asking churches to bring unplugged campfire type singing with guitars into the church. I feel if sound systems are used, they should be tailored for the congregation, not for loud microphones that cause the congregation to lip sync like Milli Vanilli. I continue to lobby until this day and believe it will start another revival like the 1904–1905 Welsh Revival or the Jesus Movement of the 60s and 70s. Singing participation was a big component to both of the former.
