A man has been killed after a rollover accident in Hatzic on the weekend.
At about noon on Sunday, Mission RCMP and North Fraser crews responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident. A pick up truck had lost control and rolled over into a ditch on Sylvester Road, just north of the Lougheed Highway in the Hatzic area.
Crews arrived to find the truck on its side in the ditch. Firefighters cut away the windshield to access the driver, the only occupant in the vehicle, and provide medical assistance.
B.C. Ambulance Services attempted to save the driver, but he was pronounced dead on scene.
RCMP had the road closed for several hours while they conducted an investigation. The road reopened again around 3 p.m.
The driver is believed to have been an elderly man, in his late-70s.
