Mission man shot in zoo parking lot

A 29-year-old Mission man was shot Sunday night in the parking lot of the Greater Vancouver Zoo in Aldergrove.

The man, who is known to police, suffered non-life-threatening wounds. However, due to his injuries, Langley RCMP have not been able to formerly speak to him.

While it is still early in the investigation, police do believe the incident was targeted.

The victim was in the company of another male who has provided information to assist with the investigation.

The police received the shots fired call at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 16) at the McDonalds/Otter Co-op Gas Bar in the 26400 block of 56 Avenue.

When they arrived on scene they found the wounded man in the restaurant parking lot.

RCMP then located the scene of the shooting in the parking lot of the Greater Vancouver Zoo in the 5000 block of 264 St.

Several shell casings were located in the large empty parking lot.

The investigation continues.
