Mission Public Schools is asking parents to only send their children to school for the first three days next week if there are "emergent circumstances."
The teachers' intention to strike was declared Thursday, and Mission educators will not be reporting to schools March 5-7.
"While our schools will remain open under the care of principals, we will regrettably be unable to provide students with instruction or appropriate supervision during this period," said a letter signed by school superintendent Frank Dunham that will be going home with students today (March 1).
School buses will also not be running.
