UPDATE: Motorcade to bring fallen officer to Abbotsford has left hospital

Motorcade carrying body of Const. John Davidson expected in Abbotsford between 3:30 and 4 p.m.

A motorcade to bring fallen officer Const. John Davidson back to Abbotsford has now left Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) headed for Abbotsford. The motorcade left just before 2:30 p.m.

Members of the Abbotsford Police Department are escorting Davidson. Davidson’s family is in one of the lead cars.

In Abbotsford, fire crews have lifted a large Canada flag above the Clearbrook Road overpass in anticipation of the motrocade.

The motorcade was set travel via Grandview Highway to Highway 1 and continue east to Abbotsford, where it will take the Sumas Way exit and arrive at Henderson’s Funeral Home on Marshall Road.

Meanwhile, funeral plans for Davidson have been confirmed.

The full police honours service takes place Sunday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. at Abbotsford Centre. More details will be revealed in the coming days.
