Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation hosted a public grand opening of the new ultrasound room at the Mission Memorial Hospital.

The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation hosted a public grand opening of the new ultrasound room at the Mission Memorial Hospital last week.

The new equipment donated by the Mission Health Care Auxiliary Society will help hospital staff provide more ultrasounds and increase patient centered care for the community of Mission and surrounding communities.

A variety of ultrasounds are performed at the hospital, among them are abdominal, renal, obstetrical, carotid and extremity ultrasound procedures.

Organizers of the open house said the additional space will increase access to services at the hospital site and the quality of patient care in the region.

“We are so grateful for the support of the Mission Health Care Auxiliary Society and look forward to working with the community to help enhance care in Mission” said Liz Harris, the foundation’s executive director.

The foundation’s primary purpose is to raise funds and awareness to further the improvement of health care in the facilities and programs operated, funded or endorsed by the Fraser Health Authority within the Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District through providing the best medical equipment, programs and facilities, to better serve your community of Mission.

The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation depends on the generosity of local donors to put vital equipment in place.
