A prolific offender known to police has been arrested again.

On Feb. 1 at about 4:15 p.m., Mission RCMP received a call from a resident in the 31900 block of Kenney Ave.

Allegedly, the suspect was sitting in the complainant’s car on the driveway. When police arrived, the suspect had fled.

The Integrated Lower Mainland Police Dog Service was called in and a dog was used to track the route the suspect took after fleeing the scene.

Police say that, due in part to the excellent description provided by the complainant, officers located and arrested Jada Bailey.

Bailey has now been charged with mischief under $5,000 and possession of break-in instruments.

Bailey recently pleaded guilty to several charges, including breach of probation, theft under $5,000 and trespassing by night, stemming from an incident that occurred in October 2017. She was sentenced to 20 days in jail and 18 months’ probation.

Staff Sgt. Steve Crawford of the Mission RCMP said the public “needs to take some basic steps to protect themselves” and wants to remind residents to keep their car doors locked and make sure any valuables are removed from the vehicle or at least hidden from sight.
