Road to Deroche improving

Ten kilometres of the Lougheed Highway will be repaved

Ten kilometres of the Lougheed Highway from the Dewdney Bridge to the Deroche Bridge will be resurfaced by Oct. 15, 2012.

Keywest Asphalt Ltd. was awarded the $2.2 million contract, which will provide a smoother and safer ride for motorists.

"Highway 7 is a key transportation corridor that Mission families and businesses depend on," said Abbotsford-Mission MLA Randy Hawes. "These upgrades will help ensure that people and goods are able to move safely and efficiently through the region.”

Timely resurfacing eliminates surface deficiencies such as cracks and potholes, which can lower the lifespan of the road and increase future maintenance costs.
