If you see emergency vehicles rushing to Mission’s Steelhead area, don’t be alarmed.
An emergency simulation is in progress.
Today, June 6, the District of Mission is carrying out a simulated emergency in the Steelhead area. In partnership with the Coastal Fire Centre, the district will be simulating a response to a forest fire.
The Emergency Operations Centre will be opened and there will be fire trucks, police and ambulances in full response mode going to the area Tuesday morning (at 8 a.m.)
This event is a simulation and the Steelhead community has been informed.
The exercise is scheduled to wind down by 2 p.m.
