Albertine Sperling

June 30, 2006

April 10, 1914 - June 30, 2006

Albertine Sperling, 92, of Surrey B.C. died Friday, June 30, 2006 at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Surviving Albertine are three brothers: Clarence, Harry and Ben Giesbrecht, nine children: Violet Nesdoly (Ernie), Ken Sperling (Dawn), Lorne Sperling, Loyd Sperling (Mara), Beatrice MacPherson, Brian Sperling (Darlene), Gilbert Sperling (Anne), Julene Gunther (Lorne), Doris Silva; twenty five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, two brothers and six sisters.

Albertine Giesbrecht was born in Dalmeny on April 10, 1914 and raised in central Saskatchewan. She married Walter Sperling in 1944 and for thirty years they farmed and raised their family just north of Dalmeny. They moved into Dalmeny in 1974 about a year before Walter’s death in 1975. Albertine spent the next ten years in Dalmeny before pulling up prairie roots for British Columbia. She lived in Abbotsford from 1985 until late 2005 when she moved to Surrey.

She will be greatly missed for her kind ways, creative ideas, listening ear, wise counsel and knowledge of family history. Her zest for life was inspirational. We, her children, are thankful, blessed and proud to have had the privilege of calling her Mom.

Please join us in remembering Albertine’s life at 2:00 p.m. on July 15th at the Seven Oaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, B.C. Donations to Samaritan’s Purse would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
