Dahl, Anna

Anna Kroeker Dahl was born on November 12, 1913, in Alexandrodar, Russia and emigrated with her family to Canada in 1925. When she was about 17 or 18, the family decided to move to Yarrow, BC. She married Frank Dahl on January 12, 1936 and lived in Yarrow. By 1955, there were nine children in the family and she worked hard to keep us fed and clothed. When they finally sold the farm in 1988, they moved to Clearbrook and joined the Clearbrook M.B. Church. After Frank passed away on January 25, 1998, she continued to be active in volunteer work in the church and in the community.

On May 15, 2010, she fell and broke her hip and her arm. She passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010.

She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers, two sisters, her husband, Frank, her son, Frank, her daughter, Carol Wolfe, her grandsons Glen Dahl and Christopher Dahl, and her great-grandson Stephano Ratzlaff.

Surviving her are Waldo (Anne) Dahl, Linda Allert, Alvin (Ruby) Dahl, Edith (Heinz) Ratzlaff, Rudy (Claire) Dahl, Leonard Dahl, Gary (Dawn) Dahl, son-in-law, Peter Wolfe, 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, sisters Lena Neufeld and Helen Borne and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clearbrook Mennonite Brethren Church. Burial will take place at the Maclure Road Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. Viewing is at the Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford, on Friday, May 28 from 7 - 9 p.m. Donations to M.C.C. or Mennonite Brethren Missions and Services International are welcome in lieu of flowers.
