On Monday, April 7, 2008 Mr. Arthur Michael (Art) Ulmer of Kamloops passed away at the age of 83 years. Art is survived by his two sisters Marilyn Oikawa and Adeline Marcoux, his nephew Mark (Leigh) Oikawa and his niece Wendy (Mark) Konowalchuk and his great nephew Riley Konowalchuk and several cousins. Art was predeceased by his brothers in law Richard Oikawa in 2002 and Marcial Marcoux in 1998.

He was born on April 19, 1924 in Killaley, Saskatchewan, settling in Mission, B.C. in 1942. Art served honourably in the Canadian Army in Europe during WW11.

He became a journeyman auto body repairman after the War, a trade he practiced for 38 years. Art came to Kamloops a decade ago, to be closer to his family. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Art also enjoyed bowling, the outdoors and was always physically active. He also took pleasure traveling in his truck and camper.

Pastor Terry Sauder will conduct a Graveside Service on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery, Kamloops.
