Barbara (Friesen) Rempel of Mission, BC went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2015. She was born in Speers, Saskatchewan April 30, 1929 to David and Barbara Friesen along with 2 brothers and 3 sisters. She married William (Bill) Rempel in 1947 and had 6 children. Most of her adult life was spent in Mission raising her family, serving the Lord in the church, working as a volunteer for MCC and visiting family and friends. She loved to travel to see relatives and was a great host to those who returned the visit. Barbara was predeceased by Bill in 1968. She was also predeceased by an infant son, her parents, brothers Jake and Isaac and sister Betty and many in-laws. She is survived by daughters Connie (Dan) Schubert and Debbie (Wayne) Perry and sons Rob, Phil (Elsie), and Dan (Linda), brother David Friesen, sister Sarah Bueckert, sister-in-law Mary Nickel, 16 grandchildren and spouses, 26 great grandchildren and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home 7386 Horne Street, Mission on Wednesday, January 8th from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Graveside Service will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, January 9th at Hatzic Cemetery 34867 Cemetery Road, Mission, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm at the Cedar Valley Mennonite Church 32840 Janzen Avenue, Mission. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to MCC.
