Charles "Chuck" Hugh Harrington
Chuck passed away at the Christine Morrison Hospice on May 13, 2008 at the age of 89 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice in 1991; his brothers, Donald, Robert (Grace), and Walter (Evelyn); sister, Lillian (Jack) Stagg; mother, Gladys and his father, Arthur. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Shirley-Ann (Del) Olson of Dewdney; Mary Lynne (Howie) McKamey of Powell River; and Dean (Gail) Harrington of Mission; his companion, Kay Taylor; grandchildren, Chuck, Ken, Paul, Darin, Kevin, Kristy, Blake and Brittney; great grandchildren, Sarah, Ashley, Jacob, Jessica, Julianne, Kelsy, Kyle, Keaton, Ilia and Katelynn; his brothers, Roland (Belle) Roy, Edward (Lurriann) Downing and Anthony (Bud) Downing; sister, Donna (Steve) Smith and many extended family and friends. Chuck was a long time businessman in Mission, an avid curler and very involved in the community. He was awarded freeman of Mission, he was on the recreation commission, instrumental in bringing soccer, hardball and men's and women's softball to Mission and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Chuck's life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church, 32840 Janzen Ave., Mission, BC (southeast corner of Cedar St. and Cherry Ave.). Donations in Chuck's memory to the Christine Morrison Hospice would be appreciated.
