SCHUCK, CLARA(Nee Zimmerman)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clara, beloved wife, mother, and grand- mother on Friday, July 11, 2008. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 54 years, Arthur, three daughters Sandy (Richard) Oppelt, Terry (Roger) Hitsman, and Tammy (Wayne) Jones, and six grandchildren, Janine, Tiffany, Jordan, Amelia, Kayla, and Rachel.

Clara was born on February 17, 1935 in Vernon, B.C. to Alexander and Olga Zimmerman, and spent her early years in the Southern Okanagan. She moved to Calgary at the age of 17 where she met the love of her life. Arthur Schuck. They were married on December 30, 1953. Clara spent many years in Weyburn, Saskatchewan where she was an active member of the Lutheran Church, singing in the choir, participating in Ladies Aide, etc. In 1972, she and Art settled in Abbotsford. Clara was a committed member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed fellowship and friendship with the members of both the English and German services. Clara's life became somewhat restricted in recent years, but she still remained faithful to her family, God, and church, longing for the day she would be united with the Lord. He called her home on July 11, 2008, and we look forward to the day when we are reunited with her again.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 1:00 pm at Peace Lutheran Church, Pastor Christoph Reiners officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Clara would appreciate any donations be given to the Peace Lutheran Church Sunday School or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

"A heart of gold stopped beating, two shining eyes at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove,

He only takes the best."
