TRANMER, Colin

April 4, 1931 - June 15, 2015


Colin Tranmer, late of Abbotsford, BC, died on June 15, 2015 at the age of 84. Born in Yorkshire England to Fred and Ada Tranmer, Colin immigrated with his family to Canada in 1948. He eventually became a school teacher, high school technical director, college administrator and worked with the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities. Colin had a passion for travel, all modes of transportation, music & high fidelity stereos. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peggy), his daughter Laurel Akenclose (Dale), two stepsons, Mark Forsythe (Catherine) and Paul Forsythe (Deb Cochran), six step - grandchildren, and one step - great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his brother Graham (Lise) and family in London, Ontario, cousin Joyce (Ron) Ellis and family in Yorkshire, and other family there. A Memorial Service will be held at St Matthew's Anglican Church (A.N.I.C.) at Grace Worship Centre, 2087 McMillan Road, Abbotsford, with Reverend Mike Stewart officiating on Saturday August 8, 2015 at 12 noon.
