EGILSON; Daniel Christian
Daniel Christian Egilson of Abbotsford BC passed away at the age of 89 on May 18th at the Menno Hospital. Dan is survived by his loving wife Heather of 64 years, children Kirk (Sara), Craig (Olly), Bret, Shona (Marty), grandchildren Tracy, Dean, Shane, Ryan, Trent, Dyllan, Jade, Cody, seven great-grandchildren and brother Clifford. Daniel was born April 26, 1926 in Swan River, Manitoba.
He is preceded by his parents Arnor, Loa, infant son Brent, brothers Konrad, Harold, Norman and cousin Tillie. Dan moved to Vancouver in 1943 where he worked for many years at Colony Farms as a herdsmen. During that time he met his future wife Heather who was working as a nurse. Later he worked at the 4X Bakery and transferred to Abbotsford Bakery where he went into management for many years before his retirement. Some of Dan's many enjoyments were spent outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. Dad will always be loved, missed and remembered as an amazing husband, father and for the countless hours he spent playing with his grandchildren.
