Schellenberg
Mr. David Braun Schellenberg, late of Abbotsford, BC, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2009 at the age of 87. He was predeceased in 1989 by Lydia, his wife of 44 years and parents David J. (1966) and Anna (1997) Schellenberg.
He is survived by sons: Roy (Nancy), and Wes (Gert), and daughters: Sandi (Scotty), and Debbie (Frank), and special friend Marg Tompkins. His grandchildren Andrea, Jeff, Christy (Jeremy), Lorelei, Chad, Cannice (Brian), Adriaan, and Darian will miss him, as will his great-granddaughters: Cassie, Sammie, Salina, and Amy, whom he loved to hold. He is also survived by one brother Ed (Romelda) Schellenberg of Steinbach, Manitoba and two sisters: Ann Voth, also of Steinbach, and Bertha Laing of Santa Barbara, California.
David excelled in his work as a finishing contractor in the Abbotsford community for many years before retirement. He was an avid gardener and never lost his love to learn.
Dad's personal relationship with the Lord was well known by family, friends, and work associates. He was always ready to share his personal faith and experiences with others. His easy going gentle personality and great sense of humor will be missed.
There will be a viewing at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Sunday, July 19th from 6 - 8 p.m. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20th at Musselwhite Cemetery, followed by a celebration of his life at 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Egolf, for his care over the years, and the wonderful people at Tabor Home who looked after him in his last year of life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tabor Home "Piano Fund."
