Frances Maud Kathleen Ritchie (nee Armstrong) of Abbotsford, BC passed away peacefully  the morning of Sunday, February 26, 2006. Born in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Mom was proud of her Irish roots, but even more proud of being a Canadian. Mom was predeceased by her father, Thomas, and mother, Eileen Armstrong of Lisnaskea, Northern Ireland and younger sister, Pat McCoy of Monaghan, Ireland.  Mom leaves behind brothers, John and Bill of England and older sister, Florence of Northern Ireland.
Mom’s joy came from her four children and 12 grandchildren: Laurna Ritchie, and her sons Matthew and Dean Harrington; Gordon and fiance, Tamara, and his sons, Ryan and Brock; Stewart and wife, Sandra, and their children, Samantha, Amelia, Tyler, and Liam (#12); and Scott and his wife, Tracey, and their children Cameron, Brittany, Justin, and Alexandra.
All who knew Mom are invited to attend a “Celebration of Maud’s Life” at the Abbotsford Ramada Inn, 2:00 pm on Monday, March 6, 2006. Â Bring your laughter and good memories of Mom as we celebrate the way Mom wants us to - the Irish way. Mom always told us that she wanted to enjoy flowers while she was alive, not after. Â So, in lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
