HIEBERT, Frank
January 15, 1917 - May 26, 2008
Frank Hiebert, born in Reinfeld, Manitoba, passed away peacefully at Menno Hospital in Abbotsford on Monday, May 26, 2008 in the presence of his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Katharine, and his children Frieda Zalinko, Allen (Dorothy) Hiebert, Linda (Bruce) Lysack and Sharon (John) Yokoyama, six grandchildren, seven great-grandsons and siblings Jake (Agatha) Hiebert, Dave (Hilda) Hiebert, Pete (Maureen) Hiebert, and Annie (Jack) Driedger. Frank was predeceased by brother Abe Hiebert and sisters Mary Pauls and Susan Thiessen.
Frank and Katharine moved to BC as a young couple in 1947 and made their home in Abbotsford. He became a journeyman carpenter, working at many projects around the province. Frank lived a life of quiet dignity and integrity. He will be lovingly remembered for faithfulness to his family and church.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 30 at 1:30 pm at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, 3471 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Menno Hospital for their care and kindness to Frank in his final months.
