MILLS Gwenda S.

We are very sad to announce the passing of our aunt and friend Gwenda Mills, but also find comfort in knowing she lived a full and happy life with many adventures. Gwenda passed quietly away on August 18, 2010 and is now embarking on her next adventure. Gwenda was born on September 10, 1917 in the Cotswolds in England and immigrated to Canada with her older sister Joan and parents Lil (Frances) and Fred Timms where they settled in the Montreal area.

Gwenda lost her father when she was quite young, and remained devoted to her mother and her sister. As a young woman she joined the Air Force and served for the duration of the war. After a number of years and an adventure to Toronto she met Jack and he claimed her as his bride and lifelong companion.

Gwenda's love of travel took her and Jack, her husband of 40 years, to all parts of the continent and Europe. They worked and lived their way across the US and Canada, sometimes rich and sometimes poor, but always content to have each other.

After Jack passed away she continued to travel with friends making new friends along the way. Then, in her eighties, for her next adventure she decided to move from St. Catharine's, Ont. to Abbotsford, BC where the climate would be somewhat more accommodating. She moved into Hallmark on the Park making many more new friends, She loved the outings and the elegant surroundings and the warm friendliness of the residents and the staff.

She will be missed for her humor, her love of life and the inspiration she provided us, her family, on life's lessons:

"Live Laugh Love".

We will miss you!!!

So Say We All.

Auntie Gwen will be missed by her nieces, Candy, Wendy and Moira.

A service and reception will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford at 2:30 pm on Aug 28, 2010.
