Howard Allen MARTIN

Born in Timmins, Ontario and peacefully passed away in his 70th year on October 5, 2007 at Mission Memorial Hospital. Marty will now be reunited with his beloved predeceased parents Barbara and William. He will be deeply missed by his best friend and “rock” for 49 years, wife Gloria, beloved family, sons Terry and David; grandchildren Elora, Hailly and William and extended family and friends. Marty joined the Canadian Air Force as a young man and was stationed in Holberg, Comox, Vancouver and Senneterre PQ. While a tragic car crash took away his mobility in 1962, this did not touch his spirit, anyone that had the pleasure to call him friend, will attest to grand character and a man always happiest surrounded by those he loved. Marty was active in Stayner, Ontario with the Lions club and later became interested in amateur radio. Locally he was a member of the Maple Ridge ARC and Canadian Legion. He enjoyed visiting his second home and extended family at the Mission Springs Restaurant and keeping in touch with friends via his computer. Marty’s family gives heartfelt thanks to the Seventh Avenue Health Center and Mission Memorial Hospital second floor nursing staff.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this month, please contact the family for details.

Oh that this handful

of dust might be

A part of the air,

the land and the sea.

A being it was,

but no flesh to mourn

Now part of the universe,

a spirit reborn.
