Janie Lenore Friesen, born Feb. 1, 1951 in Altona, MB, died peacefully surrounded by her close family and friend on May 1, 2006 at St. Pauls Hospital. Janie worked at BC Tel for 30 yeas and lived the past 19 year at Sojourn. Janie was predeceased by her father Diedrich H. Friesen in 2001 and joined by her brother Don on May 2, 2006. She was truly a very special person. Left behind to cherish her memory are mother Elsie Friesen and siblings Francis (Glen) Gordon, Sharon (Garry) Mutter, Norma (Jim) Bavalis, Elmer Friesen, Edith (Larry) Thoreson, Petty Friesen and Arnold Friesen. Also remembering are 10 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews and long time friend Judy Smith from Victoria, BC. Janie had a second family at Sojourn who will miss her greatly.
A memorial service to celebrate Janie and Don's lives will be held at Henderrson's Funeral Home. For information call 604-854-5534.
