John Forrest Johnston was born in Cabri, Saskatchewan on January 18, 1915 and passed away peacefully at the Extended Care Unit in Mission, BC on Sunday, October 2, 2005. He was predeceased in 2004 by Vera, his cherished wife of 61 years. John will be sadly missed by his daughters Darlene Johnston and Teresa Lepard.
“We knew Mom was waiting for you, but we enjoyed having a bit more time with you. Thanks Dad.” His smile and sense of humour were always a highlight and the bowling leagues will miss his strikes. Anybody who knew John appreciated how he enjoyed putting his green thumb to work and through that, meeting people.
His daughters would like to thank Jim for his loyal friendship, and the staff at the Mission ECU for their great kindness and care of John during this past year and a half. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the CNIB.
