It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. John passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 20, 2010 with his loving family by his side at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 87. He was always a gentleman, known for his quiet, gentle nature. John worked for the CNR for 38 years as a Locomotive Engineer, retiring to Abbotsford in 1980. His greatest joy was his children, grandchildren and especially his great-grand- children. He is survived by his loving wife, Stella of 63 years; children Elaine (Doug) of Abbotsford, Bob (Marilyn) of Calgary, Joan (Graham) of Abbotsford, and Jim of Abbotsford; grandchildren, Dave (Jodi), Mike, Brian (Alix), Colin (Lanie) and Kimberly; great grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Jessica, Tyler, Ryan, Janie, and Madison. Prayers will be held at St. Ann's Parish, 33333 Mayfair Ave, Abbotsford on Thursday, February 25 at 7:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service on Friday, February 26 at 10:00 am with burial at Hazelwood Cemetery.
