Mr. John Boreham, late of Abbotsford, passed away on July 13, 2006 at the age of 80.
He is survived by his daughter Jane (John) Bisaro and granddaughter Chloe, his son Mark (Carey) Boreham, his brother Keith (Maud) Boreham, and numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his wife of 51 years Sheila.
John was born in Sussex, England in 1926. At the age of 18 he joined the Royal Air Force and was sent overseas to Burma during the latter part of the 2nd World War. Upon his return he worked as a mixed farm manager. He married Sheila Blackhall in 1953 and had two children, Jane and Mark.
In 1961 the family immigrated to Canada and John worked on a succession of dairy, beef and poultry farms as manager. In 1979 he and his family became Canadian citizens. The last 10 years of his working life he spent at Buckerfield’s on the bulk feed sales desk.
John spent his retirement with Sheila gardening and reading. He was an avid Blue Jays fan and loved doing crosswords. He was especially proud of his granddaughter Chloe.
He will be greatly missed and remembered by all as a kind and gentle man.
