LINEKER, Randal James

July 28, 1962 – April 15, 2012


Resident of Mission, B.C. After a courageous eight month battle with cancer Randy passed away peacefully early Sunday morning at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. Randy was born in Port Arthur, Ontario and raised in Gibsons, B.C. He graduated from Elphinstone Secondary and also from BCIT with honors. Randy spent 22 years working for FedEx where he was universally loved by his fellow employees and his clients, Randy was more than a driver he was the resident FedEx goodwill ambassador! He was one of four children born to Marion Lineker and the late Raymond Lineker. Randy is survived by his mother Marion; loving wife Melissa; sons Brodie and Dylan; brothers Brent (Vicki), Larry (Bonita), and Cameron (Stephany); and nieces and nephews Mandi, Jordan, Courtney, Bryce, Tessa, Crosby, and Renny. Randy touched all who knew him with the kindness and thankfulness that marked his life. He was an amazing husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved sports especially playing rugby as an accomplished player. He loved his food especially when Scott made chicken wings. Randy was everybody’s favorite uncle. He was often referred to as the uncle who really knew how to play. Randy’s qualities are endless. He left a mark on all who he has touched. Randy lived every day with honesty and integrity. A special thank you to all the nurses and staff at the palliative care unit at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and especially to Randy’s best friend Scott who was with him every step of the way. Viewing will be held at Bakerview Community Crematorium & Celebration Center 34863 Cemetery Ave, Mission BC on Friday April 20th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Memorial service will be held at Bakerview Community Crematorium & Celebration Center on Saturday April 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
