After a brief battle with cancer, with family by her side, Lorraine started her new journey in life. Her memory will be cherished forever by her best friend and husband Casey (Ken), her daughters Carol MacDonald (Jamie), Sherri Rothwell, Karen Gartner (Jesse), Marlene Funk (Len), seven grandchildren, her sisters Jean Cummings and June Horne (Wayne), her nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Alberta Bannister. Lorraine was born in Sydney, NS. She married the love of her life, Casey and moved to Winnipeg, MB where she and Casey raised their family. In 1988 they moved to Abbotsford, BC where they have continued to live. She retired in 2005 but retirement didn’t last long. She spent the remainder of her years volunteering at Northview Community Church assisting in the kitchen and reception. Lorraine was most happy when she was serving others. We will miss Lorraine’s incredible humour, generosity and caring spirit. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Cascades Hospice Center. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11:30 am at the Northview Community Church.
