Margaret Mina McCRAE

Margaret Mina McCrae, neé Thompson, passed away peacefully Dec. 21 at MSA Hospital, Abbotsford, BC at age 92 years. Margaret was predeceased by her first husband George Connell in 1969, and second husband Bill McCrae in 1993. She is survived by her sister Helen Summers, North Vancouver; brother Norman Thompson, New Westminster; step-­daughters Louise and Betty McCrae in Whitehorse and Tulameen, ­sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, ­nephews and cousins. Margaret was born in Vancouver and raised in Revelstoke, BC. After a 35 year career as a teacher she spent her retirement years in Trail, Princeton and Abbotsford, BC where she enjoyed her passion for music, travel and golf. Margaret was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Pythian Sisters and Daughters of the Nile. She was a truly caring, gifted and stylish lady with a youthful spirit and will be missed dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Gladwin Heights United Church, 3474 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to the British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital, Vancouver, BC, would be appreciated.
