CHYZHYK

MYKOLA

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of the husband, father and grandfather Nikolay Chyzhyk. He left behind his elementary school sweetheart and wife of 39 years Alla Chyzhyk, a son Igor Chyzhyk and wife Victoria with grandchildren Illiya and Anastasia (who reside in Ukraine), a daughter Marina Child and husband Vince with grandchildren Jacob and Jorden. Nikolay was born in 1950 in Ukraine and after finishing high school he spent 27 years in the army. Nikolay and Alla immigrated to Canada in 2002. In Canada, he was able to start working days after arriving, then learned a trade and started his own business in the trucking industry, which he enjoyed. After long trips all over Canada and USA, he always loved coming home to Abbotsford to be with his family and friends.

He knew and loved Jesus with all his heart, soul and mind . Nikolay was the one person we always knew would help us fix anything that needed repair, from the car to the water cooler. Nikolay was appreciated by many, and the lives of those here in Canada as well as those in Ukraine will never be the same without him. He was an inspiration, a hard worker, a deep thinker and a willing servant. He had a heart to serve, and influenced everyone he came in contact with.

The viewing will be held at King Road Mennonite Church, 32068 King Road in Abbotsford on June 13 (Friday) from 1pm – 2pm; with the Memorial Service starting at 2 pm.

Job 14b-15

“All the days of my hard service

I will wait for my renewal to come.

You will call and I will answer You;

You will long for the creature Your hands have made.”
