LINDORES, Robert Douglas (Bob)

Nov. 16, 1925 - Feb. 6, 2009

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and Pop Pop, Robert Douglas Lindores at Abbotsford Regional Hospital on February 6, 2009 at the age of 83 years. Bob was born on November 16, 1925 in Straiton, BC to Max and Eileen Lindores. Bob was the grandson of local pioneer Thomas and Mary Ellen Straiton. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Hazel, son Douglas, daughters Leslie (Dwayne) Eccles, Cathy (Scott) Bradley, Donna (Rob) Sloboda and cherished grandchildren James, Richard, Allison, Regan, Robert, Hanna, Jarek and Tristan. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Mary. Bob was employed by the Toronto Dominion Bank for 42 years. He started his career in Vancouver in 1947 working in many branches. In 1963 he became Manager of the Abbotsford Branch where he remained for 20 years. In 1983 he was transferred to the Vancouver Divisional Office as Manager of Commercial and Agricultural Credit and worked there until he retired in 1987. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting and camping, but gardening was his great joy. Viewing will be held on Sunday, February 15th between 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd. Abbotsford. A graveside service will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery on Monday, February 16th at 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at Rancho Catering, 35110 Delair Rd. at 2:30 p.m. to honour Bob's life.
