Victor Frederick Hollister passed away peacefully in Mission on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the age of 81 years. He was predeceased by his wife Hilda, son John, daughter Ellen and brother Lance. Vic is lovingly remembered by his children Anne (Hans), George (Cindy), Sue (Steve) and Ed (Valerie); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many dear friends, especially Doug Adair. Vic was a well respected geologist and upon retirement, together with his wife Hilda supported many organizations and scholarships in the community. He was a member of Rotary (Past District Governor) and was honoured with many awards including Mission Citizen of the year and the Lighthouse Philanthropist Award which he shared with Hilda. He will be missed not only by his family, but by his colleagues and the community.
A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 11:00 am at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church, 32840 Janzen Avenue (southeast corner of Cedar and Cherry), Mission, BC, with Reverend Robin Ross officiating. If desired, donations in Vic’s memory to a charity of your choice will be appreciated.
