CRAIG, Walter Herbert
Walter passed away February 24, 2010 in Abbotsford, BC. Son of Fannie (McDougall) and Thomas Hatfield Craig, Walter was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick in 1912. Predeceased by siblings Frederick, Florence and
Cassie as well as a son, Freddy, who died tragically while Walter was overseas in World War II. He is survived by his wife Vitaline ("Vicki", née Gauthier) with whom he shared a loving relationship of 56 years. Vicki was very important to Walter. The couple formally resided in Trail before moving to Abbotsford in 1972. He also has a surviving son, Denis Eric Walker, from a previous relationship and
Eric's children, Graham and Amy Walker of Coquitlam. Walter is affectionately remembered by George and Grace Bird of West Vancouver and their family. He was very proud of his WWII service in Italy and France. A long time employee of Cominco, Walter enjoyed wonderful retirement years travelling the world with Vicki. A service to remember Walter will be held Monday, March 8 at 11 am in the chapel in Menno Hospital, 32945 Marshall Road, Abbotsford.
