STOTYN, WILLEM (BILL)

October 12, 1913 - May 22, 2008

Devoted husband, father, uncle, neighbour and friend.

Bill Stotyn was born to Styntje and William Stotyn Sr. in Monarch, Alberta. He married Arida (Ada) Wichers in 1942 and spent three years in Kingston, Ontario where he served in the Canadian Army during WWII. Bill and Ada returned to Monarch and later moved to Nobleford, Alberta. In 1967 they moved to Abbotsford, B.C. where he resided until his passing.

Bill was predeceased by his loving wife, Ada on May 12, 2008 and by six

of his brothers. Bill is survived by his children: Sheila (Jim, deceased) Hamilton, Bonnie (Gary) Moroz, and Russell (Patricia) Stotyn; his Grandchildren: Marliss (Dale) Norlin, Bradley (Sheri) Rolfe and Joshua Moroz; his Great Grandchildren: Tori and Ryan Norlin, Sydney and Nathan Rolfe; three brothers, two sisters, several sister-in-laws, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cherished friends and neighbours that were considered family.

We will miss his quiet strength and unending protection. From Bill's family; thanks to the Pastors and members of Living Hope Church, the staff at MSA Hospital and the staff at Bevan Lodge for their tender care of Bill.

On May 23, a combined memorial service for Bill and Ada was held at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church in Abbotsford, BC. To those who wish, in lieu of flowers, please send a donation in memory of Bill to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
